The following is a summary of the terms and conditions of ESPANZA, operating as an agent for Kruger Park safari tours. All prices are quoted in
Euros. Rates and conditions quoted are subject to change without prior
notice.
TOUR ITINERARIES, INCLUSIONS & EXCLUSIONS
It is the responsibility of the client(s) to make sure that they have read and understood
the detailed Quotation & Itinerary supplied to them by ESPANZA before confirming
their reservation. The Quotation & Itinerary, together with these Terms & Conditions,
will be considered complete and binding for each particular tour once the reservation
form has been received by the tour operator. Specific attention must be paid to the
following sections of the Quotation & Itinerary:
- Safari Information (especially the price)
- The Safari Price Includes
- The Safari Price Excludes
- Meal Plan (as indicated in the Your Safari Day-By- Day section at the end of each
day)
- Clients must be aware that meals not mentioned in the meal plan for each
day are for their own account.
- The waiver at the end of the Quotation & Itinerary relating to timing and availability
of activities
Any amendments to the Quotation & Itinerary requested by clients, before or after
the booking form is received by the tour operator, must be agreed to in the form of a revised Quotation
& Itinerary provided by the tour Operator. Amendments ‘agreed to’ by a staff
member by any other means (e.g. telephone conversations, normal email correspondence
etc) will be considered not binding unless supported by a revised Quotation & Itinerary
provided by the tour operator.
PAYMENT PROCEDURE:
100% when invoiced to secure booking – by credit card or by PayPal.
Please note:
- Only major credit cards accepted – Visa, Master, Diners, Amex
- Debit cards are not accepted
DEPARTURE AND RETURN TIMES AND LOCATIONS FOR TOURS
Tours depart from Johannesburg on the first day at 06:00 and return to Johannesburg
at approximately 18:00 on last day of Tour. For Personalized Packages, participants
will be collected from and returned to their hotel/guesthouse in Johannesburg or
Pretoria. For the set-departure tours, departure/return information will be provided
at the time of reservation.

In the event of a tour being cancelled by the tour operator prior to departure
the full price of the tour will be refunded.
MINIMUM AGE & CHILDREN
- For all tours, participants must be 18 years or older. Permission for minors under
the age of 18 years must be requested before booking. If permission is granted,
minors will be the responsibility of parents/guardians at all times unless otherwise
advised.
- Children aged 12-17 pay full price and can participate in all guided game activities
if accompanied by a parent/guardian
- Children aged 6-11 pay 50% of the tour price and can participate in the open-vehicle
guided game drives if accompanied by a parent/guardian. They are not permitted on
the guided game walks and must be cared for by a parent/guardian at the rest camp
during such activities.
- Children aged 2-5 pay 50% of the tour price and are
not permitted on any guided game activities (open-vehicle drives / walks) and must
be cared for by a parent/guardian at the rest camp during such activities. Children
of this age group are not permitted at the African Ivory Route safari camps (part
of the Greater Kruger Guided Safaris).
- Children under the age of 2 will be accommodated on the tours at no charge, and
will be subject to all the conditions mentioned above for children aged 2-5. For
transportation purposes baby chairs may be hired at an additional cost per chair per
tour. Camp cots will not be provided by the tour operator and must be provided by the parents/guardians.
RESPONSIBILITY
- ESPANZA, the tour operator, their employees, guides and affiliates, do not accept responsibility
for any participant or dependant thereof in respect of any loss, injury, illness,
damage, accident, fatality, delay or inconvenience experienced from time of departure
to time of return, arising out of any tour organized by the tour operator.
- The tour operator
cannot be held responsible for any damages as a result of the route navigated
by the tour leader.
- The participant accepts that, at all times, the authority
and decision of the tour leader will be final on all matters relating to the Tour
- Should a participant, in the sole opinion of the tour operator, be considered unsuitable
for the Tour, by being in contravention of any customs or laws of the country, or
by reason of causing inconvenience or annoyance to other participants, the tour operator may
exclude that participant from the Tour or decline to carry the participant further
during the Tour – and the tour operator will not be liable for any refunds.
- Bookings are
accepted on the understanding by the participant that certain risks exist. This
is inherently part of adventure travel in Africa. Participants undertake all tours
and associated expeditions entirely at their own risk
PASSPORTS AND VISAS
It is the participant’s responsibility to ensure that all the applicable visas and
travel documents are in order before arrival in Southern Africa. Should a participant
be refused entry into South Africa due to incorrect or incomplete documentation, ESPANZA,
the tour operator will not be held liable for any costs resulting in delays or repatriation
for the participant or family.
ITINERARY VARIATIONS
- The tour operator reserves the right to make any changes to the itinerary in the event
of circumstances beyond its control. This does not entitle participants to a refund.
- If, for reasons beyond the control of the tour operator , guided activities (such as
game drives in open game-viewing vehicles) are cancelled or not provided in accordance
with the Quotation & Itinerary, clients will receive a refund limited to the value
of that guided activity. Requests for further refunds will be entertained.
INSURANCE
All participants are strongly advised to take out adequate travel insurance in their
own country to cover:
- Emergency medical evacuation and/or hospitalization
- Loss of baggage
- theft
- Cancellations
MALARIA MEDICATION
It is highly recommended that all tour participants take a course of anti-malaria
medication. Please consult your doctor before leaving for South Africa
LUGGAGE ALLOWANCE
The tour operator has a maximum total weight allowance of 20 kg per participant. Luggage must
be in a soft travel bag. One travel bag per person. No hard suitcases are allowed.
CHANGE OF BOOKING
It is possible for a participant to change to an alternative departure date – subject
to availability. If the tour operator cannot accommodate the request, the normal cancellation
procedure will apply
